This website is a work in progress. The goal is to list all of the canonical fiction (games, books, comics, films, etc.) from the Halo universe in chronological order. Whilst there are other great sources for a complete chronological list of events within the universe, the order in which to read the books and play the games isn’t made obvious if you wish to experience them in chronological order. Therefore, I wanted to create a simple list that does this. I have used various sources to help build this list including Halo Waypoint, Halopedia and Halo Alpha, all of which are great resources if you wish to learn more about anything Halo related.

I hope you enjoy exploring the Halo universe as much as I do. But if all this fiction isn’t enough for you then I recommend listening to the podcasts Podcast Evolved and ChatterNet for an even deeper dive into the Halo universe.

THE SILVER TIMELINE

Halo: The Series takes place during the Human-Covenant War but in an alternative timeline called the Silver Timeline.

Halo: The Series – Season 1

After years of civil war and growing political unrest, mankind’s very future is threatened when our outermost colonies intrude upon the sacred worlds of the Covenant. As the Covenant destroys world after human world, only one soldier slows their advance, a cybernetically enhanced “Spartan” supersoldier, the Master Chief. But as the incredible mystery of the Covenant’s true ambition and the secrets of his own enigmatic past converge, he will have to decide if humanity is a cause worth saving.

Halo: The Series – Season 2

Season 2 begins six months after Season 1.

Master Chief John-117 leads his team of elite Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant. In the wake of a shocking event on a desolate planet, John cannot shake the feeling that his war is about to change and risks everything to prove what no one else will believe – that the Covenant are preparing to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold. With the galaxy on the brink, John embarks on a journey to find the key to humankind’s salvation, or its extinction — the Halo.
